Three fast opening trades carried the whole session

Our desk did essentially all of the morning's work inside the first five minutes — an Oracle long off the open, a Rocket Lab short into the drop, then a Google long scaled out in two pieces. After that the tape flattened, and the later attempts to short Apple into a level that kept expiring were the cost of trying to make a second act happen.

Being flat and fast at the open is a position: the best fills that morning came from pressing the button in the first minutes, not from waiting for confirmation.

If you're holding a runner without exit orders in, say so and place them before the move gets away from you.

Check the distance to your first magnet before you commit — a trade with fifty cents of room is worth scratching at entry.

When your stop invalidates the signal you entered on, change your framework rather than re-taking the same setup.

An expired level can still be worth trading, but size it as a smaller, scaled entry rather than a full-conviction one.
